What does QuickToLake do?
QuickToLake syncs QuickBooks Online company data into a customer-specific folder in QuickToLake-managed Azure Data Lake Storage so teams can build Power BI reporting and finance analytics.
How do customers connect QuickBooks Online?
Customers sign in, complete onboarding, and authorize each QuickBooks Online company through Intuit OAuth. The dashboard tracks connected companies and subscription status.
How is customer data separated?
QuickToLake uses customer-specific ADLS folders and Microsoft Entra security groups so only approved customer users can reach their specific folder.
Do customers need an Azure subscription?
No. QuickToLake manages the Azure Data Lake Storage account. Customers access their secured folder through supported external identities in the QuickToLake Entra tenant.
Do customers need Power BI Pro?
Not to use Power BI Desktop or local templates. Power BI Pro or PPU is generally only needed for Power BI Service publishing, sharing, and collaboration unless Premium or Fabric capacity applies.
How long until data is available?
After profile, subscription, payment, QuickBooks connection, company selection, and entity selection are complete, data is typically available in ADLS in under five minutes.
Can I connect more than one QuickBooks company?
Yes. Each company subscription slot applies to one QuickBooks Online company/realm ID at a time. You can add additional company subscriptions when you need more companies available in the same billing period.
How often does data refresh?
QuickToLake currently offers daily and hourly refresh options. A customer dashboard is provided that is designed to show connection health, sync runs, checkpoints, and failed entities.
Will Power BI templates be included?
Yes. Customer-only template(s) are provided for finance dashboards such as executive financials and AR/AP analysis, with data already modeled from the ADLS folder structure.
Do I need to install a desktop connector?
No desktop connector is planned for the core workflow. The goal is a cloud-managed QuickBooks to ADLS pipeline that works with Microsoft analytics tools.
